Should I waste my ca$h on this, is it worth or should I get a name brand?

Why pay 99 bucks for that, when you can find K&N FIPK's or SLP CAI's used for that much? What kind of filter is on that thing? I do not think you would get that great of airflow with the filter being all closed in like that? My FIPK sits very low, and i have cut out the bottom of the weatherguard and put a scoop on. I do not see how you could loose 15 HP from no heat shield when this thing would barely even gain 15hp to begin with.

Guys: Should i make my own heat shield and close in the filter by putting a piece of sheet metal or something that goes aroudn the cone, so the only air coming in is thru the whole in the weatherguard?

.....make your own C.A.I ! It's easy, fun to make and cheaper. This site will give you really clear precise directions and photos on how to do it.... I made one with 4" pipe and the biggest filter that K & N makes {a little cutting to get the 4" pipe to fit}.... Bill...

At least it reaches down to under the car unlike all the other eBay cai's...as far as a filter goes you can get a K&N for like $30-$40...

Well the first one mentioned does...

Buy a used SLP CAI. Sandblast it, and ceramic coat it. It'll look great. I'm doing that in the near future.

I think u need to calm down. I was trying to help you out, so first off its not a good price when the thing has an unknown filter with no proven results on a darth vader helmet enclosed cai. You could build a much better one by yourself. Jeez

The first one is okay (real cold air), the second one is piece of ****. The best thing is building your own CAI. 3" pipe and he biggest K&N filter that will fit and you are done. I build my own when I had my Camaro , it was a lot of fun and gains were pretty good (I can feel it). The Cai is a very simple thing and all of those on the market (K&N, SLP, Moroso), have the same HP gains. This is not like catback when some engineering is involved (except loudmouth , this is simple 3" pipe and filter…
I hope you will like my old CAI..
Sebastian
ps. Here is the link to my CAi in my old Camaro CAI I hope you will like it...

I purchased that pipe from JCwhitey . It was exact fit so I didn’t bend, cut or modified anything (except painting). The filter is 11" K&N filter ($30 from eBay)...I hope it helps...
Sebastian
ps. Money that you save on this CAI send to my paypal email sebastianek23@hotmail.com

I'm actually going to say get the ebay cai, I wouldn't even think about the one with the closed filter but the one I got (from a different seller) works great and was really cheap. I would suggest buying it if your to lazy to make your own, there just as good as the name brand ones, there just custom made. Being that no one usually bids on them I would just wait untill right before the end and bid, you could get it fairly cheap then.
