Easy ? for those who have changed plug wires

a few simple questions?

1 The factory spark plug terminal boot is it straight or 90?

2 Could I use straight plug terminal boots with hooker shorty headers and run wires over valve covers?

Same questions for optispark end..
1 Is the terminal straight or 90?
2 Could I use 90 degree's boots?

Problem is I bought a set of Accel 9000 wires part#9003 Universal Fit - Bendable Plug Boots? Yet when they arrived they are part#9000.. That are straight sparkplug boots with the other end 90 degree boots. Can I use these?

I've taken vaction days to install some headers and do a plug/wire swap this week. I'll be in a jam if I can't use these wires.

Factory wires are straight on the opti end and 90º on the spark plug end. The opti end is a special type of connector that mates to the opti terminals and clicks in.

Plug side is 90 degree, opti is straight. I MAY be wrong here, but i don't think you can use straight boots on the plugs due to the close proximity of the headers. I know i can't on my edelbrocks, but they are the 96-97 dual cat really weird shaped models. So i think they sent you the right wires. did they know you have an lt1, because if they did, they probably sent you the lt1 spec set, which is good. if you want to go over the covers, they make special sets for that, but i don't know if you could get them quick enough.
IMO, if you're careful, there's nothing wrong with running them through the stock locations. Just check three or four times to make sure they won't touch the headers. Learned that the hard way. Good Luck.

you aren't screwed if they sent you the right set, but if the straight boot doesn't have the opti connections, then i hope you know a good next-day-air service! Jegs is good, and so is Thunder Racing.

Looks like I have the wrong terminals for the opti. Thunderracing sells the taylor opti terminal kit for 12.00. That fixes my opti problem.

Now on the other end I have straight plug boots. They are Accel 9000 and are designed to handle high heat. Plus my hooker headers are Jet Hott Coated? So can I run the wires over the valve covers?

Thanks for the help

Sorry, not sure about that one. The way my headers fit, there is not enough room to run the wires between the primaries and the valve cover (primaries actually bend up before they bend down), but if it appears that you will have enough room to do so, then yeah. you can buy some wire looms that will connect to the bolts on your valve covers, and all should be gravy. Just make sure your wires are long enough.

Orginals -- YUCK. Problem is I work two jobs, time with the wife, and the gym. I have no extra time. I had taken a few days off of work to tinker with my car. One day on the lift to change headers, plugs, and wires. Next day flush our radiator, refill, water wetter, and new 160 thermostat. If time permits change out flowmaster for hooker aerochamber & replace stock coil with Crane Cams coil. I've got it all in the spare bedroom minus correct wires.
Busy Busy Busy.

Looks like I can place a quick order and have it my Friday.
