Cheapest way to go faster is lose weight. You can strip 4-500 lbs off these cars and it's like gaining 40hp. Most bolt on's are cheap and pretty easily done, but are going to cost you something. Trust me I'm the master of doing the most for the least amount of money.

I would actually go ahead and do something like a mail order tune or even buy a used HPP. Whichever you go with have the rev limiter raised to 6200 rpm. With the stock 3.42 gears you can cross the traps in third instead of the lower part of 4th. I was running consistent 14.2's until I put in the HPP then the car instantly dropped down to consistent 13.8's. Eventually got the car down to 13.6's with driver mod and nothing else added. This is really only beneficial if you are going to take it to the track. For the street your not really going to feel much difference.

Also do you have a catback? If not I would sell your 52mm TB and use that money for a decent exhaust. I know you have a cutout but from my personal experience I haven't seen much benefit out of these with a mostly stock car. I didn't dyno any better nor did I run any better at the track when I had my cutout. Know a couple of other guys with same results. The same goes for the 52mm TB. In some instances the larger TB can actually hinder performance (a search should find out all the info you need regarding TB's and stock motors.)

I contacted the two popular tuners and was told with a stock LT1 and premium gas, you're looking at 12 - 15 hp for $150 to $175. Plus you can tune out the skip shift and have the fan turn or quicker.

Supposedly an aluminum LS1 driveshaft will free up a few ponies. I don't know if that's true, but I will tell you the aluminum DS is VERY noticeable from a smoothness perspective, and it does make the car "seem" a little quicker. You can get an aluminum DS for less than $100 if you're patient and shop around.

I'm thinking about the rockers, but after doing a bunch of searches, I'm getting conflicting opinions on the benefits, especially without replacing springs, which is more involved.

Buy stuff from the FS section thats used. your money will go a lot farther.

Pick up a:
Cold air intake,
Crank pulley
cutout
Pcm tune
Headers if you can find a deal. If you do than get a cheap exhaust too. Like magnaflow or hooker(both 300)
