I tried that. Maybe I need longer nails.

I used several razor blades to have a new edge each time, and it still isn't taking it off easily, plus it's stuck in the welds where I can't get it with a razor blade anyway.

Get a rag wet with gasoline, and lay it on the silicone infected areas.... Gasoline makes the silicone rubbery and gummy. It will just fall off then.
