E Brake
E Brake
How can you make a very loose e brake, tight? My car is an automatic, but I would like to use my e brake sometimes, however, whenever i pull up on it, not much really happens. It slows very gradually, even when im totally yankin on it. Whats the deal.
Wish I could help but I got my own e-brake problems after installing my ripper shifter a few years ago.
I removed a rigid wire with a rectangular loop on one end from, ahem, somewhere in the e-brake handle and can't figure where to put it back in. I thought I needed to do that to get the handle up far enough to get the console over it but looking back that may not have been necessary.
If you do the same thing I guarantee at least the pull on your handle will be tight because this wire seems to be designed to actuate (mechanically) the lever that catches on the lower sprocket of the e-brake handle. I am being somewhat sarcastic since you can't pull up on the e-brake handle at all without that wire being installed correctly.
Maybe this will trigger something to help you?
