Angry Dangit I used sealant instead of threadlock

The bolt on my clutch fork backed out after 1200 miles and the slave cylinder pushed the fork into the outer cover of the pressure plate. I was certain I had it torqued down good, but this time I bought threadlock to make sure it wouldnt back out again. Well I opened the wrong tube and used the sealant I was going to use on the shifter. I didnt realize until I had the transmission bolted up and was about to put the driveshaft in.

Do you think the sealant will work almost as well? Or should I not take the chance and drop the transmission again? I used quite a bit in the thread and on the bolt,so Im hoping itll hold it in place. Basically Im just wanting some words of encouragement after all the problems Ive had in the last month.

Good job man! I'm sure everything will be ok. Is that good enough for encourgment. lol. Sealant will help, but obvously won't be as good as loc tite. But I have never had a problem with mine backing out and I changed the clutch a year ago.

Thanks I really appreciate the words. When I found the threadlock in the bag I nearly had a heart attack. I seriously dont need to be stranded again on the side of the freeway at 2 am(I work nights). I talked to a couple friends who didnt use any loc tite and never had a problem, so Im feeling better. The fact I know I torqued it down good the first time is what worries me.

No its ok, it actually made me feel better. I just sealed the shifter and messing with the sealant made me realize I should be alright. Im sure most of it squirted out when I torqued the fork bolt but oh well. Im going to stop by Oreillys tomorrow and buy some of that penetrating loc tite just for peice of mind.
