E bay valve cover question

I know this topic has been beaten to death, but I have a problem...

I bought thse valve covers from "cowboyparts" on Ebay. They no longer list them. They don't fit very well over my Pro mags. Anybody else have them? What needed to be modded to get them to work? I can't tell if it's the "webbing" or if maybe the bolt hole tubes maybe too long, but when I set them on the heads, I can rock the covers back and forth. They're about a 1/4" from sitting flush, even with a gasket.

Here's a pic. I added the K&N breather and screw on oil cap, but the filler tube is welded on.

Are your posilocks bouncing off the inside of the tops? There should be scratches if that is what's happening.

Haha yeah, I like the size. I actually picked the bigger size so it takes up a little more space to hide things.

Possibly. It's not even close enough where I can bolt them down and turn the engine over. Like I said, there's about a 1/4" gap, a little less when I use a gasket.

I bought a set from another seller on ebay but the alternator hits them. This might sound really stupid but could you run an extra valve cover gasket?....good luck

I've heard of people doing that with cork gaskets, but I don't think it would work with the newer rubber gaskets.

I have these same valve covers with my Crane Golds and they fit perfectly. No fitment issues whatsoever.

Is there a removable oil baffle, if so remove it. My Proforms came with them, I just left them off.

Yeah, it has removeable baffles, and I never even tried to install em.

Aren't the Pro Mags wider at the trunion than Crane Golds? If I recall correctly, I believe my ARP 7/16 studs are longer than standard too now that I think about it. That could be my problem. However, I've been using modded stock covers with no problem.

I had to trim the trim the tube that the bolt goes through on my aluminum covers. The tube was too thick to fit between the rockers. The covers wouldn't fit down all the way.

That's kinda what I was thinking. Are your covers from ebay as well?

I don't know the brand of my covers. They are just the tall ones for center bolt heads. I have really wide aluminum roller rockers though.
