Dynomax Bullet bad idea for stock LT1?

Hey guys, ive been getting a bunch of mixed opinions about putting a bullet on my stock LT1... I dont plan on doing alot of mods any time soon.. this will be my first mod, then an intake and a few more bolt ons. (no headers any time soon)

Here is the setup I'll be doing. (by ratio411)

If you guys dont recommend the bullet, what MUFFLER would you recommend that could either be a direct stock replacement, or a replacement of where the bullet would go (on the i pipe)

I need some opinions before I get anything.

BTW I planned on getting the slightly longer bullet that should muffle the sound just a tiny bit more?

thanks

Pandamonkey, I looked into those, they're affordable for me and a direct replacement, but i noticed on the dynomax site they only flow at like 440cfm

I have a Dynomax 16" bullet muffler(p.n. 24222) on mine and while my car was stock, I loved it. I had it without a cat and it was LOUD! Now that my car has headers and a cat, I still love it and it sounds GOOD. I hope this helps and good luck.

That over axle thing kinda through me off, I thought, what the hell do you want to insert a y pipe there for? lol My exhaust I pipe curves, funny how that diagram doesn't show it. Thats cool though, any idea how much it would cost for an exhaust shop to do that though?

neil350, it does curve, i guess the guy that made the diagram couldnt make it curve or something, but anyways, right after it curves over the axle you cut it where it turns again, put the y pipe to make dual.

So far ive been to 1 muffler shop and they estimated $200 and i have to supply the muffler.... so near $250 for me, im sure i can find somewhere cheaper.

Thanks alot. I dont have any sound clips but i could probably get one this weekend. Its not TOO loud but it can get pretty loud at certain rpm's. It will get you some attention but not if you are good with it. Also, the whole exhaust setup cost me $130. Hope this helps and I will try my best to get that clip for you.

200 huh, loudmoth is a little over 400 installed on a single cat car, including the price of the conversion s pipe or wht ever it is. Twice the price. I was about to say the same thing, it is loud, but if you got a cat, shouldn't be a problem.

Exactly....
$30 for the cutout...and another $30 to get it on......go for it...I wouldn't even spend my money on a catback over a cutout unless I was putting on headers
