Dynoed today - new numbers...

Finally got the car done and back on the dyno this afternoon. New numbers: 632 rwhp, 554 rwtq on a Mustang dyno.

The coolest thing was the curves- torque was flat all the way through the test and horsepower just continued to climb. I'm extremely happy and will be at Bandimere for test and tune Wednesday for tech and a few blasts. The new torque convertor is perfect and the tranny seems tight and crisp. Here's the dyno sheet:

Very nice numbers You should have more on a dyno jet instead of the mustang dyno. What's a DRE tune?

DRE is Dragon Race Engineering in Broomfield Colorado. They built the car and are really great at dynotuning.

Thanks guys.

I'm pretty sure the numbers are corrected for altitude. The 1/4 estimates are not. I hope to be deep into the 11s at 5800 ft. At sea level the car would be deep into the 10s (possibly...) They are just guesstimates...

Very nice. Your car has got to be one of the strongest street set-ups I've seen in a while.

It's been a full year in the making. There is still some tweaking to be done. I'm satisfied with the power now, so the next year will be spent working on consistency. The cog drive will really help there. I've been watching a lot of s/c cars on the dyno the last few months and it's easy to see how much a slipping belt can affect performance. It's running great on pump gas, so I think the intercooler and compression are just about right.

Now, I've just got to learn to drive the damn thing...

Question: How Race-Built is your 4L60E? I'm asking because I'm taking mine to get race built soon. I was wondering what all was replaced/beefed up??? And how much money was spent on parts/labor if you don't mind me asking, thanks man!

I spent 2K for everything Art Carr can do to one (except the transbrake which is a new option) The convertor was additional.

Frankly, I didn't take the time to really learn about auto trannys- Billit corvette servo, enhanced sprag, clutches, bands, etc. If I was starting from scratch on this kind of hp, I'd look at the 4L80e or the TH400. IMO and everyone elses, except Art Carr (LOL), the 4L60e shouldn't hold up to the power... I'm giving it a try because I wanted to get the car back to the track as quickly as possible and the tranny came with a guarantee. If it doesn't hold up, I'll have them rebuild it again, sell it to someone making less hp and go with the TH400. If you can wait a few months I might can make you a good deal on one... j/k

Later, TJ

That's Ok, I got a deal already Besides, I plan on making 600+ Too in the future

Have a buddy that works @ GM Powertrain and will do it for parts at his cost... Around $400! Everything...

One thing my 4L60 has over your 4L60E is the bigger boost Valve. The 4L60Es can only go .490, but with the 4L60(700-R4) we can go to .500...

Plus, I'm getting the Super Servo which is better than the Corvetter Servo. ..

Can't wait to get the trans done! Nice numbers BTW

That is awesome! I looked at the web site too and the car is beautiful! Is that color stock or repaint?
