Dynoed the Purple Car today....

Dyno Info/Chart here

Overally, for having everything it does, I'm not too pleased with the output. Granted, I'm still on a stock throttlebody, and the tune DEFINITELY needs some more work just from looking at the A/F ratio (the car was NOT detonating or anything at least), but 260/195@.550 flowing ported heads and a hotcam shouldn't be that low. TQ was good, but I have a feeling that may be gearing related more than anything. Hopefully I can come up with the cash to get the tune worked on over the next month before the next dyno day.

What do you all think??

Definitely more in it with more fuel. I'd guess another 25-30rwhp.
That on the stock program?

LOL, I tried to tell ya that thing needed tuning. 14.3/afr is pretty lean. You may end up having to boost fuel pressure to get the fuel up where it should be. Can't remember if Bobby had 22's or 24's injectors in there. If they're 24's you should be ok with just adding more fuel in the tune.

I'd guess another 20+rwhp with some good tuning. The torque looks really good down low where it's getting the fuel. Actually, after viewing the graph again, at around 4100 where the AFR starts to go lean, you can see the hp take a slight turn on the graph.

What is the average rwhp/rwtq for a hotcam with your mods? Just curious why you're dissapointed considering how badly it needs tuning.

Mike

Yeah like I said when you bought it I figured 350-360 for that setup I think the headers are holding a little back too..

It has 24 # SVO's on it...

I don't know doesn't seem that bad to me especially cause you have room to improve on the tune. But I'm sorry your disappointed

Plus that torque look damn good I hope my heads cam LS1 car has that much torque at 3500!!!

Don't get me wrong guys, it's not that I'm disappointed, just was caught off guard by the low numbers, especially after having seen hotcam cars and other smallish cam cars making around the same HP with stock heads. But after looking at it some more, I think there's going to be a ton of HP coming around with a good tune as the TQ numbers do speak a lot. The HP is just getting killed by the lean condition. Hopefully I'll be working on that soon, but I am without a logging capability because FBC still has my laptop and chip burner from working on my black car.

I guess I was just being overly optimistic on what I was going to see, especially after seeing how my 224/230 car was on the dyno. I would be real happy to see this one get up to about 360 at the wheels. I've still got a trick or two up my sleeve too.

FYI, the first two pulls were back to back, and only netted 331 each, with TQ being 353 each. I only pulled the 340 after letting the car cool, and then another run immediately after and it pulled 339. I had driven 1 1/2 hours and immediately gotten on the dyno too.

Hey don't feel bad I had the same problem when I took mine to the dyno. I also went to Xotic. My A/F ratio was 15-1 and I only made 351rwhp and 340rwtq. My car should make a lot more than that. My cam should actually pull to 6700 rpm's but it only pulled to 6000 due to the lean condition. BUt I did run the numbers in the sig with a 3650lb raceweight so I could care less what the dyno says I make...lol I think you got pretty good numbers for having the hotcam. Definitely more in it once you richen it up.

Definitely richen that up some and you should see another 15rwhp. What about timing? How much you running?

340 is all mine made as well and it was still running rich. I figured I might could have pulled 10 more if I had time on the dyno to play with the fuel some more but didnt. Since then I have leaned it out some and it finally ran the numbers in the sig....

yeah something is choking the car, because on most heads/cam combos w/stock bottom, you always see more HP than TQ.

get one of Nomad's 52mm TB's and a good tune, see what happens.

I'm going to get with PCM For Less to work on the tune some more, and throw a cutout on the flowmaster piping, and see what she turns then.
