dynoed my new set up

240rwhp/295rwtq SAE - this is stock with CAI
324rwhp/348rwtq SAE with the mods in sig. Spark retard and hp still climbing at 5800rpm when I let off.

a few pulls i thought the car was acting weird cause it wasn't pulling and wouldn't accelerate at all like i had no power.
after i was done the session i found out the dyno operator had a wire going really close to the throttle cable and it was actually binding it up sometimes. thats why some of those pulls were crap.

i figure when i get the spark retard stuff figured out and if i would have pulled to 6200rpm or so i would have seen more hp. my goal was to get 350rwhp/350rwtq SAE with my set up and i think i can still get that.

Re: dynoed my new set up

YOu've got a nice gain from stock but not near as close as most have seen with heads/cam. What kind of springs are you running? Also what kind of stall?

Hmm, i almost made that with the 224/230 cam only. somethings definatly going on. My power peaked around 5800-6000 rpms..so i dont think running it to 6200 would gain you much more peak hp.

whats the word on those GTP heads? what do they flow like?

Re: dynoed my new set up

I got 324/318 SAE with the cc503 on stock heads/pcmforless tune... Since you've got ported heads, I'm betting there's a good bit of power to be found yet.

Nice gain over stock for sure! Get the KR taken care of.

Re: dynoed my new set up

You could add some race fuel to see if it's false knock. How much KR were you seeing?

Re: dynoed my new set up

I realize that eveyones car is different, you may not have all of the supporting mods, bolt-on's ,exct..

What was your A/F and WOT timing???

Not to dog, but just to say its common for a hotcam or a 224/230 to put down 330rwhp ish. Heads should help out more.
My 1994 Z-28 --327rwhp 350rwtq , stock cam. Everyones car is different but it should have put down a little more, check into your problems

Re: dynoed my new set up

How are the comp r's adjusted? Your power will suffer if those are too tight.

Re: dynoed my new set up

Your goal is very realistic. I think you are leaving 25-35 rwhp on the table
until everything is dialed in. You will get there.
