dynoed my 94 with Hotcam kit today.

I dynoed my 94 TA with the LT4 Hotcam kit, ASM midlength headers, and a PCMforless mail order tune. It put down 339hp and 344tq. I only did one pull. Sounds about right from what I've read from others. Just thought I'd throw this out there for reference. The A/F was 14:1??? I'm thinking the filter was not as clean as it should be so I'm going tomorrow to a different one and see what it says. Hopefully lower A/F so I can flip the goofy gas switch.

Thats with just LT4 hotcam, headers, and a tune, thats seems very very high for just those things. Do you have the full exhaust, 1.6 rr's, cai done too because thats what those #'s tell me. Just wondering because that is the setup I was thinking of running.

You are probably a tad higher than some others I have seen with
the Hot cam. Nice numbers by the way.

Wow. Great numbers! A little higher than average, but believeable.

Do you happen to have a scan or picture of the dyno chart? I'd love to take a look at the TQ curve, since the Hotcam is still on my list of cams and we have similar mods (except the Hotcam kit)

Yeah, get that A/F down to 13 or so.

Some dyno's are higher than others. Good numbers either way.

I'm pretty sure he at least has a CAI and catback, among other smaller boltons, he probably just listed his major mods. Those numbers are about the same mine did through the full exhaust 340/337, that was with some restriction in the exhaust too. I had an insert cone in the ORP and the Borla had the smallest opening plate in. The #'s below were through the cutout that's directly at the end of the y-pipe, that's how I run it at the track, it's basically no exhaust.

Gregg, the cutout gave you that much of an increase in power. Did you dyno back to back or did u have extra mods?

Yeah it did, and that was on back to back runs that day. Made 4 runs total, it did a best of 340/337 on the 1st two runs through the full exhaust, then opened the cutout and made two more, the 3rd & 4th were almost identical at 355/350. My full exhaust was a little restrictive at the time though. I had a 3" insert cone in the ORP right after the cutout (to clean up the nasty sounds) and also had the smallest opening plate in the borla. With just the straight ORP and the Borla wide open I would guess I would have only lost more like 5 hp/tq or so. I'm replacing that ORP with a bullet muffler and now have a QTP Borla electric cutout. I'll probably get it dynod again after the new ORP is in and see how it does

I dynoed 351 rwhp w/ the hot cam kit, 2800 Vigi, 3.73's, LT's, MSD6A w/ coil, Meziere, cut out, and Ed Wright tuning. That was after 14 dyno runs that day. Don't ask, long story.

The hot cam kit has incredible potential, and is one of the best cams for a daily driver car. Also very easy to tune.

Nice numbers.

95 LT1 in my 88 RX7 convertible. I'm singing the blues a bit. I've installed the Comp Cams "Extreme" LT1 Camshaft, 218 / 224. Ported factory heads with Ferrera oversized valves, roller lifters, roller 1.6 rockers, 52mm tb, cai, SLP 1 3/4" shorties to a true dual exhaust.

First pull on the dyno last saturday, it made 284 rwhp and 299.15 ft# of torque. The A/F was high, 14.13 lean, so I tuned the PE table with LT1 edit. After two burns, and fattening up the PE table by 10% richer, I got the A/F down to 13.

Final numbers; 304.58 rwhp, and 313.11 ft# of torque. Certainly not the numbers you are getting with your hotcam kit.

I don't know all that is involved in tuning with LT1 edit since I've never used it but your tuning might be part of the reason for your low #'s. Even though you have LT1 edit I would consider having PCMforless tune your PCM for your cam, it would only run $99 for a 95 PCM. He programmed mine for the hotcam kit with stock heads. I don't know if you have an LT4 knock module for the PCM, if not that may help if you are getting any false knock that could be retarding your timing.

Sounds like Gregg and I have the exact same exhuast, and yeah... the cut-out being open makes alot of difference. Great for making the person you pass go deaf too.

I think Gregg 97z had a great suggestion. PCMforless tuned my car with the same cam on a 111lsa and stock heads and I put down 343 SAEhp and 343tq. I have very similar mods, 52mm slp midlengths (94-95 style, dont know what yours are) through a full exhaust. You can check my site out for all the details.

Don't give up hope yet, i think you have some bugs to work out.

Gregg, sounds like a nice exhaust your going to have Also congrats on the new dyno numbers, where did you have that done? You caught and passed me in hp, but are definitly kicking my *** at the track either way. Just for clarification, is 350 uncorrected? Your graph labels list Power, not SAE Power although the .97 correction factor is listed at the top.
