Dynoed LE1 today with alittle problem

I had my car dynoed tuned today here in jersey and I was getting vavle float above 5400 rpm. I have the LE1 heads with the 224/230 comp cam on a 112. The turner said that Lloyd did a nice job on the heads but I need to change my spings. does anybody know what springs I need. I have LE1 heads with bigger valves. The car dynoed 365 @ 5300rpm with 342footpounds. He couldn't rev it higher do to the valve float. I'm very happy with the #'s. I would like to see what it makes when I can rev it to 6200. Lloyd told me the car should go 112/114. I went 107 with a poor tune. Now with a good tune and my springs fixed I should be right were he said. So any advice on springs would be greatly appreciated. Thank
Joe

do I have to machine the heads to make them work. I really don't want to take my heads off again.

People will tell you that you have to but you don't. The springs come with extremely large seats that just need the corner notched a hair to let them sit flush. My buddy is running them with that same cam and didn't machine his heads.

I have to ask...

Did Lloyd do the whole head (valves, springs, seals, seats) or just bare port work?

He did everything. He just emailed me and said he would replace the springs. He is a very respectible person and I'm glad I had him do my heads. The guy that did my tune said the heads were done well. He obviously stands behind his work.

think you could get a vid of the car idlein and driving? that would be awsome, also what other things did you buy besides the heads/cam for $1100. just trying to get an idea of total cost.

Llyod does have a good rep. I'm sure he'll take care of you.

Hopefully he'll post the solution to this problem. I'm really interested in the root cause.

I only bought his heads. I paid 950with shipping. LE1 heads with largervalves. I will try and email you a clip of the car running. I don't have anyway to post a vid.

thanx for the vid, it worked, car sounds awsome so did you have to buy other misc. valve train parts when you got the heads from him or were they ready to bolt on?

The heads were ready to bolt on. He is sending me new springs. He is really great to deal with. No one better. He will get my heads again when I do my 383. Good luck with your set up.
