Dyno'd my car today.

I did some tuning on it and got 345hp and 355tq. I would have thought I would have gotten more.

I know I need a larger tb and the cam is for a supercharger (see sig). I want to change the cam to a 847. What do ya think?

Re: Dyno'd my car today.

What kind of #'s do you think you can pull with the 847 cam?

Re: Dyno'd my car today.

It dynoed low but how does it run? Dynos arent always that reliable.

What kinda changes did you make on the dyno?

Not really sure, maybe another 20hp?

Adjusted the a/f, it was running way to rich. My first run without tunning was 312hp and 329tq.

I also read that the 12 bolt and 4.10 will soak up about 7% in drivetrain loss, so that would bring up to 369hp and 380tq.

Re: Dyno'd my car today.

Are those just stock lt4 heads? If they are you really need to get some ported heads on there. And yes you could probably pick up some more with a cam. Stock tb might also be restriction you but not nearly as much as stock lt4 heads would.

Yeah, they are stock heads. I know I need to have them port and polished along with the intake. I do know that I need other things done as well.

But for this thread and what I have to work with right now, I would have thought I would be running more.

Re: Dyno'd my car today.

seems kind of low, a few people I know with fully forged 355's are making 400 rwhp NA, but the also have different heads and cam setups. With a forged 385 I would expect over 400 to the wheels

You could maybe get some more out of tuning it. Heck there are cam only lt1's making more hp than you are.

Re: Dyno'd my car today.

You probably aren't gonna get to much more out of it. There was a guy with a LT4 97 firehawk on the board and he added a cc306 and headers to his stock headed LT4 and only put down 360ish. You're cam isn't as good as a cc306 either. Why are you running a blower cam when you aren't gonna go with a blower? Your compression ratio is way to high for a blower.

Re: Dyno'd my car today.

I dont think the CR is right. You are running -15cc pistons and without a decked block the CR wouldnt be close to 11:1.

Re: Dyno'd my car today.

Did you play with timing also?

Be aware that your dyno was pulling HP from you in the correction. It still seems low.. take it to the track and see how it runs.

Re: Dyno'd my car today.

Those numbers are extremely low even with the cam that you have. BTW, no way in hell are you losing an extra 7% drivetrain loss at your hp level because you have a 12 bolt. It may cost you 7% if you are only putting out 100hp, but definately not with 345hp.

Re: Dyno'd my car today.

How about we do a vote here and see how many of you guys think he should make more HP because it's a 385.
