No...I have a 97 M6 Transam and 4th gear is 1:1 meaning the input and output shaft on the tranny are rotating at the same RPM pretty standard I believe for a dyno pull.

My tach also reads 1000 at idle but datamaster displays 800 which is right.

Yes, 4th on the 6 speed T-56 tranny is the 1:1 gear. It doesn't matter what your tach read, because they get the rpm directly off of the engine by hooking up a probe to one of the spark plug wires.

Do you have the air to fuel ratio (a/f) on the dyno sheet? That would help a LOT. My bet is that you are running pretty rich.

Also, do you hear any header leaks? (pfft, pfft sound on hard acceleration)

You should also check for arcing wires. It's easiest to see when it's dark out. Start the car and let it idle. Look for any sparks between your spark plug wires and other objects.

Do you have the SES light on, with any codes?

Fuel filter?

I mde the numbers in my sig with just a cutout, CAI, and a pretty bad miss (time for a good ole-fashioned 3 hour tune-up )

Definitely check your tuning....along with everything stereomadman mentioned.

I'm in agreement with others, I think your numbers are way low. I'd have a close look at your air/fuel numbers, if you havent already. Just for reference, my 95 6 speed, mid lengths, high flow cat, borla, CAI did numbers in sig

Now this has got me kinda scared. I'm gonna be going to a dyno day on the 12th with a group of guys off Stangnet. I've been having ignition probs, that I think I've pretty much traced down to failing opti. I'm afraid I'm gonna get up there and put down something like 190hp and give LT1's a bad name in front of the competition.

If I were you I would put the stock MAF back on. Most tuners will tell you that they don't like working with ported/aftermarkedt MAFs because they really throw everything off. Ported/bigger ends on your MAF is not going to make any extra power at your HP level, and in all likelyhood is just screwing your ECM up. Did you tell Ion that you had aftermarket MAF ends when he did the tune for you? He's supposed to be able to correct for aftermarked/ported MAFs, but most tuners will tell you they really don't like them.

What kind of dyno was it? Most people keep forgetting that when posting numbers. I dynoed 261.9/297 on a Mustang 1750 Dyno but no A/F. $50 for 2 pulls was a decent deal.

I used the mustang dyno also, 40 bucks for 3 runs. no A/F.

I think my problem lies in the a/f ratio and my MAF. I put the origional ends back on but i still get the same code. its somewhere in the wiring and not the actual MAF.

Mustang Dyno numbers are lower than other kinds... Im not sure by how much though. Sounds like your porblem is MAF related especially if you have a code. it may not be working at all..I think the car has a "limp" mode for a MAF error.

Seems really low, especially w/ your mods....Highest dyno numbers ive seen outta a LT1 stock have came from 97 6spd SS's...You should atleast be in the low 290's
