Would it be worth it? Mail order have it nailed down enough that a dyno isn't needed?

 

Not worth the $500 to fully dyno tune a bolt on car for sure. If you want to get an A/F ratio run and provide that info to the mail order tuners (who do great work) then thats one thing. But it would be a waste to spend that much for boltons.

 

No way would I pay $500 (forgive me if it's cheaper if your car is barely modified) to have it tuned for an exhaust, cai, rr. I would get a mail order for $175 Well worth it IMO.

It would be well worth it, if the cost is reasonable.

I would think a stock motor would pick up 15-20 hp from a good tune...might even get better mileage.

 

I plan on DD the Z... I'd like the best possible mileage.

 

A mail order could pretty much nail down the tune with your mods. Skip the dyno tune.

Unless you can do it yourself! Dyno time is pretty cheap if you have the tools you need.

I also dont know where people get the idea that a tune is going to bump gas mileage in some great way because if theres some trick to that besides how the pcm functions and a little more timing here and there I have not found it.

Most of the power gained in a tune on a stock type engine is leaning out the wot that the factory leaves pretty rich from the factory.
