Dyno #'s lower than I hoped, any ideas?

Dude, you and I seem to have the same problem...

If you figure it out let me know...our graphs look similiar.

Try this: Fuel Injector cleaner in the tank, the good stuff not the .99 stuff. Replace fuel filter. Then check your opti rotor to see if it's or the cap has carbon tracking dirt. Hope this helps.
Re: Dyno #'s lower than I hoped, any ideas?
I have 273.8HP and 303.8 TQ at the rear tires on a dynojet Dyno. The only mods being: Holley airfilter in stock airbox, airfoil,New valve springs and 1.6 roller tip rockers,30#injectors,MSD 6AL box,Accel plugs&wires,AFPR,Volt blaster,"test pipe"instead of cat on drivers side rest of the exhaust is stock,Hypertech programmer(without the tune just used the tyranny stuff and coolant features). So maybe mine has something wrong with it also?

You're also leaving power on the table with those shorties. If you dropped the shorties and at least got some mid-lengths that you'll see some nice gains. I'd also check out madz28.com for some programming. Ion works some wonders from what I hear.

i would get a nice tune up spark plugs o2 sensors and what not. that dont fix anything start thinking about replacing the opti from your graph that almost what it looks like what could be going wrong

Dmoor88,to answer your question. My 97SS never ran as good as my 95Z so I was kinda pissed slapped a shot of gas on it to blow it and get it replaced under warranty.lol
Well it never did,it just run some mid 7's in the 1/8th. After warranty run out I figured I'd make it a lil more safer on the motor hence the only mods on it. I heard that the stock injector would hydrualic lock when at 90% duty cycle and SVO's want. Buddy sold me some 30# ones really cheap and then I bought a AFPR and turned the fp down. But no tuning for them has been done. On the same dyno when sprayed it put down 394.9 rwhp and 458.2 torque with a 11.9 a/f ratio. ps the a/f ratio on the motor run was11.3
Do you really think the airbox is being a restriction? You know that's the only thing that really makes it an SS
The same day I did these pulls I removedthe filter out of the stock box and lost like 6hp.

That is almost identical to what I dynoed with a CAI, 2800 stall converter, 3.73's and a cut out, on a slipping tranny.
Re: Dyno #'s lower than I hoped, any ideas?
Patrick,
It's possible your opti is going out and may be causing erratic spark timing at higher rpms. The power band does seem slightly low maybe, but pretty close. LT1's like yours should pull to about 5500 before crapping out. Before getting a tune from ION, you need to look into the opti. If the dyno sheet showed spark advance, air/fuel and those tables, you would figure out if the opti is bad. Also, are you sure one of your wires isn't touching a header, particularly the #7 wire? My friend (TransAmGT94 on here) has problems keeping his from hitting and he has shorties, and this will cause a slight miss.
