Re: Dyno results with hot cam

yeah thanks guys! I've heard of hot cams giving like 25-30 hp but i gained 37hp and it was bout 90 degrees out and humity was bout 100% very muggy day and not ideal conditions to dyno in. The shop manager told me that i could have easily gotten another few hp in good weather

Those looks nice, but my friend dynoed 350lbs of torque with basically and full exhaust... 310/350 were his numbers... I guess he really got lucky with his motor.

Thumbs up Re: Dyno results with hot cam

Nice #'s. I hit 324 RWHP Through my A4 and cats with only a Hot Cam at FLP. The cam is a perfect cam for everyday use on stock heads IMO....

Congrats

Re: Dyno results with hot cam

thanks....oh and for the cut-out, no need for one. Im just either gonna run open headers like i did for a while when i first put them on, or i might go w/ dual electric cutouts right after the headers. Well its not a daily driver anymore so open headers wouldnt be that bad

Re: Dyno results with hot cam

I put down 340ish in my TH350/3500 set up. TQ was 420+ but that is b/c of the stall.
Getting the AFR dead on helps alot and spraying this cam is nice!! You will like the track results!

Re: Dyno results with hot cam

Nice #'s. I did 337/340 through my full exhaust, SLP shorties/y pipe, ORP, Borla. The exhaust was a little restrictive on that run, I had a 3" sound diffuser cone at the end of my ORP and the smallest opening plate in the Borla. Then I opened up the cutout (in my ORP) and made 355/350. I think the hotcam is perfect for stock heads.

OK, why is my purple pearl car a SLUG??? 345/360 at the ground WITH ported heads. Granted it's still on a stock TB, but dang, I really expected to see more out of it.

^ Have you tried some PCM programming? If not you could probably release quite a few higher #'s.

Weight and good air is what makes mine go. I honestly do not think the TB is holding it back that much unless you got alot of head work. What is the MPH? I have run as low as 106 and high as 112, just depends on the track and weather.

I would like to also add that I picked up 3 tenths (12.6 to 12.3) with a gear swap and nothing on the 60'. I went from 3.23 to 3.73, the more RPM up top really helped, I would like to try some 4.11s!! I think that might help some too.

It's been dyno tuned by the Pcmforless chips guy. Tune is good on it.

The heads have been worked pretty well according to the previous owner. They flowed 260/190@.550 is all I got though.

One thing about the car is it's a 93 and was an A4 stock with a 3.23. Before purchase by me, a 95 T-56 was swapped in, so obviously the car needs gears badly. Under the old owner with the A4 and a 3200 Vig converter, the car went 12.69@105 with a fried 2-3 clutch pack just bouncing off the limiter and falling on it's face after the shift. That was on a 1.74 short time too. It's got potential, and I think a set of 4.10's will be a wake up call, but I still feel that the car is missing something somewhere.

A full breakdown on the car can be found in my sig. In decent weather about 3 months ago I went 12.988@107.98 with a 2.04 short time, crossing the traps in third at 6200 RPM.
