Dyno Results

I dynoed my car today, DynoJet and put down what I felt were pretty good numbers for my mods.

Don't know a lot about reading the graphs, do the numbers, curves look acceptable?

Here's the graphs

Thanks

Good numbers but the motor was running on the lean side of where it needs to be... probably 5-10 rwhp left in it if the AFR was closer to 12.8:1

Numbers seem a little low. SHouldve been around 325-330ish rwhp.

Re: Dyno Results

You probally won't pick up any HP on the dyno by going a bit richer but you'll definately extend the life of the engine. you'll definately make more tq with the car a bit fatter.

Of course i've seen some guys set them up that lean on the dyno for who knows what reason... maybe to get a high hp number at the expense of the engine.

The numbers aren't too bad, they are a little less than typical but anything can account for that like the correction factor, the car being a touch off angle on the dyno etc or heck some dynos just dyno low.

Can wheels/tires affect numbers? My new wheels and tires aren't exactly light.....I wouldn't think this would account for much though....it may just simply be that this is a Hotcam, bolt on car with a 103k. The numbers are SAE corrected.
BTW what would cause my car to be lean, it was tuned by you guys??
I may need a new tune to correct for my wheels and tires anyhow, is it possible to fix the AF ratio??

Re: Dyno Results

why do u say it would get better life out of the engine with the a/f closer to 12.8/1 when factory set is 14.7/1?

Maybe at idle... At WOT factory is set at like 12.5 air fuel... 14.7 would kill your engine...

Absoulutely, but rims aren't going to affect it by a huge number. Usually when we have guys show pu on slicks and a big stall we let them know that they are going to missing some HP.

Your car can be lean because of leaks behind the MAF or even a dirty MAF. Give bryan a call 610-685-8871 and let him know about it. We stand behind our work.

I didn't say 12.8 exactly. but your looking for a fatter fuel at wide open for several reasons. One of the biggest reasons is cooling. Just the nature of the beast.

Run a car at 14.7 and it most likely wouldn't blow anything right way but it definately will get stuff really hot and make it prone to pinging. It will also make less tq and HP than a car tuned at 13.1 or so

I don't have any leaks, but I did install aftermarket MAF ends(thunder racing) over the winter, and haven't had it retuned. Is it possible that these are causing the lean condition??
