Dynatech opti and MSD 6A

I believe my opti is on its way out and I was thinking of buying the dynatech opti and a MSD box and coil to go with it. My question is, is there any proof that the MSD box and coil will burn out an opti prematurely due to the higher voltage or is that just a myth?

I personally think it's a myth. The opti is a shady fellow. Some go out early, some last a long time. My MSD 6A has been in my car for a couple years now with no problems.
