Question Dynatech LT's VS Hooker Headers Super Comp LTs.

I have been doing a lot of research on headers and it seem these two are dead even. Both LT's get great reviews and I was wondering if I could get some people's opinion on this board about whcih one do you think is better. So what do you like, the DynaTech's, Hooker Headers, or some other header I over looked?

Thanks,

Chris

I don't know if Dynatech's have emissions hook ups. If they do, thats the question. Do you want a header with emission stuff? LT1 Hooker LT's don't.

I love my Hookers.

Dynatechs don't have emission hook-ups. They are also made of a thicker tubing than the Hookers. The Hookers are cheaper.

Here,s my opinion.
I have Jet Hot coated Hooker LTs and so far I cannot find any problems with them.
They went in relatively easy, and plug access is excellent, they are cheaper, and they have not leaked since I tightened them up right.
oh yeah, they are the single best mod I have done to the car.
I run a pretty open exhaust though.

Does Dynatech offer merge collectors for their LT1 headers? If so that would be an advantage for some people.

A merge collector would be this right?

No, that is a collector muffler. The LT1 Dynatech headers come without a collector on them. You can either get a standard collector or get a "merge" collector. A merge collector narrows down to a smaller diameter where the pipes merge, and then expands back up to either 3" or 3.5" depending which one you choose. Here is a link: http://www.secureperformanceorder.co...ProductID=5226

These are said to make a bit more power and torque, but your setup generally needs to be tuned for their use. Probably not something you're really looking for as they are much more expensive.

Cool, I wonder if I could chop off some of the muffler and have it work the same lol.

Ive had dynatecs and jethots (which are thicker hookers with a bit better accesss)

Dynatech's are superior in every way provided you weld the collectors on.

They do not hurt ground clearance one bit.

You serious, you mean the Dyan Tech LTs do not hurt ground clearance at all.

It says at the end of the product description for Jegs that the bolt-on collectors are sold seperately.

Well If I brought the Dynatech's, would I also have to buy the bolt on collectors? I mean are they talking about that little pipe that comes on after the header and where 4 go into 1?

No, dead serious, dont hurt ground clearance.

dont come with collectors

collectors are slip fit and bolt on but will leak if you dont weld them on. dont be cheap. $25 + muffler shop = welded collectors.
