I have the Dynaspark Opti. No issues with it so far.
About measuring the dowel pin and such, the Dynaspark actually comes with instructions to tell you what the dowel pin should be at. They seem to be pretty **** about people following their instructions as they lay them out in the package. Follow the instructions carefully, and you'll be fine, should you decide to get one.

Re: Dynaspark opti spark any good?

Yes I have picks. I could have drawings but it would take time to put on ACAD format. This shall take some time. I'm sorry people are having so many troubles out there. I switched to making the rotor from a nylon material. A small piece of 1 inch wide by 1/4 thick with a counter weight. Milled a center slot and a small well for the cap contact. I also made a tower from a black delrin material to mount onto the opti plate (.75" tall by 1.75" dia and a 1/4 slot). The plate assembly must be marked and pressed apart if you intend to re-drill mount holes. The reason I took this apart is to use a standard 4-40 english fastener. But, I believe the stock is metric, and, you could find these fasteners @ use-enco.com. When the stock rotor is destroyed, it is a mess. I do believe rotors can be purchased from NAPA and MSD. MSD has a long delivery and never had any delivery. The GM PCM will not handle more that 7K rpm.

Please, I work alot out of town. Maybe two three days and I can send acad files. Hey Kinkajou, please send me your address, and I will send you an assembly for free. Send an e_mail to use803815@aol. As far as rpm, 7200 and 7000 are not much different. Especially when you rin a blower with and aluminum fly. A shift light is necessary.
