Dumb question about 4th gens and clutches and where they grab...adjusting?

Ok this is a very dumb question. I am learning to drive stick and will get my Z tomorrow and I have been trying out other people's cars. My friend's 5.0 mustang seems easier to drive because the clutch pedal doesn't have to go down far to shift. On my brother's LT1 93 bird, you push the clutch down FAR, all the way to the floor. You can't shift at all unless its down almost 100%. There seems to be a LONG way for the clutch to go down, it was like this on a friend's 94 Z. When my friend got into my bros LT1, he was like "WTF, the clutch has to go down so far. How the fawk do you race/shift fast at all like this?" Maybe all 4th gens grab way down and you just have to get used to it. Damn I need to learn more about new cars lol. Do people adjust clutches on the 4th gens in any way? Anything that can be done? It's not like the clutch is going or anything, it just grabs far down and it seems that way on all cars. I guess it's just practice...

you really cant adjust a hydrolic clutch unless you get an adjustable slave cylindar from Mcleod i think. your friends 5.0 probably has mechanical clutch linkage which can be adjusted to however you like. my car with a brand new clutch grabs about mid way off the floor and a friend of mine with basically the same clutch as i have grabs about 2" off the floor... why they are so different i have no idea but i like mine a lot better.

Hmmm.. on my LT1 I only have to push the clutch about half way or so to shift. Definately not to the floor.

Don't worry too much about the clutch grabbing at the top 1/4, mine has been like that since I got it, and I have had it totally rebuilt and it's still like that. It doesn't seem to engage very smoothly though, would that be a problem with the slave? It's just an oem clutch. Any ideas?
