Sounds like you found the View/DTCs and are just confused by the numbered and colored chart. Click on the red cube which is the current code and it will give you a breif description of the code. Just realize you can set several codes just in working on the car. Do the silly thinks like crank the car with the MAF or IAT unplugged and such can set codes for those sio once you get a code looik for obvious causes then reset it and see if it comes back only then begin spending money on parts.

so if there is no red boxes, then no active codes? What is the rhyme or reason for the green boxes...they seem like they are all over the place.

Green means they are OK no problem with that code. If there are DTCs a red box will appear at the top of the main screen, if it is not red it says "DTC OK". On the chart with all the codes when they are red they are an actual code.
