Ahh, thank you thank you.

So, what would happen if I didn't get one of those? I guess I'm having a hard time visualizing everything.

On single cat cars, the catyliitic converter is located where the hump is on your passengerside floorboard. The exhaust runs from the muffler, near the centerline of the car, then snakes over to the passenger side using the s pipe to connect to the pipe cat.

Dual cat cars and LS1s have the y pipe outlet more inline with the center of the car. LT1's with long tubes also have the y pipe exit in a location that would use the "dual cat" exhaust.

Single cat:

Dual cat:

Hope that clears things up.

Ahh okay okay I see. So the S pipe is definitely neccessary in order to maintain the correct geometry in the exhaust.

Sheesh. I better get that shiat ordered so it's here by next week for the install. God... It's like I'm going to need 20 different things, and my nightmare is to have the car apart over at my friends house while I wait to mail order something I overlooked.

Crap... Thunder Racing says they can't get those anymore. I guess I'll have to have one custom bent.

Perhaps I'll be driving open header about 20 miles to my favorite exhaust shop

Re: Dual cat 95s?

I know SLP has one or used to at least. But then I hear it takes them a couple years to ship out items they are so slow. When I did the whole dual cat to single cat conversion bs, my exhaust guy said all he needed was the end of my dual cat y-pipe because it has the correct bend in it. So he cut off the last 5" or so and welded on pipe to extend it to the rest of my exhaust.
