DTC 48 MAF circuit?

I just put in the scanmaster I bought, and looked at the DT codes. I got a 48 for the MAF. My question is: when the car is running the Scanmaster is getting info from the MAF saying 8-10gps at idle and it goes up with the throttle. If the MAF circuit is bad, like the connector, ground or power, would the Scanmaster still display the MAF readings or would it go blank and show nothing? I'm sort of confused on this. I did have my MAF off to install my Cold Air about a month ago, but never had the key on with it disconneted. Also there isn't a screen in the MAF, it was removed when I bought it. Don't know if that would have anything to do with it. Any input will be greatly appreciated. I did search this but wasnt' too sure on the Scanners readings. I'll check the MAF harness for good connections. Thanks,

Dave

Re: DTC 48 MAF circuit?

Simply clear the code and see how quickly it comes back, if at all. Pull the "PCM BAT" fuse for 30 seconds. Could be an intermittent wiring problem. The code sets when the MAF loses +12V power and stops putting out a signal. You would not get variable MAF readings if that was the case... it would read 461GPS.

Check the pink wire on the harness connector for +12V. Look for corrosion or a bent connector pin. Jiggle the harness while checking the voltage.
