Dropping a LT1 in a 80 Malibu

Hello all, my name is matty man and I am getting ready to drop in a LT1 in a 80 Malibu. I am on Maliburacing web site a bunch and a few people recommended this web site for helpful insite on the Malibu project. The engine is a 94 LT1 out of a cop car, was susppose to be rebuilt @ 100K and it had 130K before getting T-boned in the pass side. I have read through some of the post here and this seems to be a great site for my many questions on this new adventure. So if you have any suggestions, ideas let me know,, Hope to be asking many questions soon, matty man

I installed a '96 LT1 in my '84 Grand Prix.
Check this link for an LT1 swap in '87 Monte Carlo SS.

Cool Thanks for all the great info!!

Thanks for all the great links, looks like a good swap, should keep me jumping! The plans for the car will be a frame off restro, its a Fla rust free car with the interior shot, it will be the LT 1 eng, 700R4 tranny and the rear is up in the air right now. I am going to install the non-AC set up in this Malbu so I dont need the compressor. My 1st step is to ensure this engine is not the 4.3 lt, I will ck the #`s on the block.
One of my main goals is to run a hot rod shop based on GM cars, mainly A/G bodies, I work at Classic Resurrection now at night, ( a goverment slug during the day) and we do retros on 55 to 57 chevys mainly but we do almost anything, This will be my 1st LT 1 in an A/G body, should be fun,, Again thanks for all the great links, matty man
