Dropping the K-Member; Instructions

Anyone know of some online guides to dropping the K-Member? It looks pretty straight forward but I'd love to have some step by step help if it's out there somewhere.

TIA

pretty much just support the engine, on my m6 i just put a jack under the bellhousing. then remove the front wheels, remove the steering rack and pinion, put a jack under the kmember for support, remove the two bolts that hold the shocks to the a-arms on both sides, then seperate the lower ball joints from the a-arms, then remove the 6 bolts that hold the kmember to the frame and thats about it! start to lower it! theres other small lil things you have to do as well but youll figure that out along the way. its like see as you go type stuff, like getting the brake lines outa the way etc lil dum stuff

You said "move the brake lines out of the way" but don't I actually have to disconnect them or is that only necessary if I'm gonna drop the engine out that way?

I plan to hold the motor up with a hoist but I think I also read somewhere that someone just chained the engine to his strut tower brace.

no you dont have to disconnect them. the one that routes to the right front goes right along the steering rack and pinion. so once that is outa the way you can just push the brake line outa the way as to get the kmember dropped

no you HAVE to disconnect the front brake lines to drop the kmember, i had to remove the rear brake line also to get the front lines past the rear one.

if you dont connect the brake lines, they will "break"

I just removed the mastercylinder/abs unit all together.

huh theres only that ONE brake line that goes to the right front brake that runs along the kmember.. why would you need to disconnect it? all u have to do is unclip it and hang it out of the way
