Cool

Yes, the trans won't affect anything with the oil pan. You simpley need to remove the dust shield and thats the only thing trans related. You will need to remove the motor mount bolt throughs so you can jack up the engine. there isn't much room between the pan and the k member

I was told by a friend of mine who owns a shop that i can drop the oil pan 1 inch approx without even touching the motor or anything so that i can put the oil pan gasket on. What do you guys think?

Yes, this can be done, but is very inefficient and will probably leak soon after it's finished.

cut the gasket in one place, put lots of ultracopper where u cut it.
Works like a charm and dont have to remove anything

Well, the oil pump and pickup are farther down in the pan than 1 inch, so no, you can't. You can do as previously mentioned and use a razor to slit the gasket into 2 pieces and put it in that way. How do you knwo it's the pan leaking ? Always best to make sure since putting it on can be a PITA with the engine in the car.
