Driveshafts 1LE vs LS1

I know that the 1LE is made by Spicer, But when it comes down to it are they both equal?

Also correct me if I am wrong but doesn't the LS1 shaft have a dampner on the yoke too?

1le is better, LS1 does have a dampner which adds weight, its also bigger (3") instead of 2.75 I think for the 1le but yet the 1le is strong I belive.

1le is better.. stronger, higher critical speed, less vibrations..

I am only getting one because, well why not?

Does the non dampend 1LE shaft make and (drivertrain)noise?

I switched from an LS1 to a 1LE recently, the LS1 is 3" diameter and the 1LE is 2-3/4 as mentioned. The 1LE is supposed to have thicker walls than the LS1, I have seen an LS1 that was ripped open on a hard launch and I was shocked how thin the walls of it were. I'm not about to cut mine open to compare but I hear its a bit thicker. Also the Spicer end caps/u joints on the 1LE look much beefier than the ones on the LS1. I didn't notice any difference in vibration between the two, I didnt have any with the LS1 either though. There was no dampner on the yoke on either of the shafts I had, nothing like that big donut piece at the front of the stock steel vibeshaft.

Here is what happened to my friend Jim aka "Maldo" LS1 Aluminum drive shaft with just a 3500rpm launch with drag radials. (His car only had a Cold Air Kit and Catback exhaust at the time too)

The U-Joint in ok, for some reason I can hear LS1's Driveshafts clink like that. Though mine seems to be a little louder than most.

Lingenfelter still has his 3.5" on sale for $300. I have launched with my A4 at 2500 and it's still intact. Joking aside, a good deal.

I just put an LS1 driveshaft on my car. And now you all are saying go for the 1LE. What the hell, I buy a v6 Camaro, everyones like you should've got a V-8. Now I have a V-8, and everyones like too bad it's not an LS1. I think everyone needs to die and go to hell, lol. I was wondering what all you guys were upgrading to. Are the carbon fiber driveshafts worth the price. And what do the 1LE driveshatfts cost. And on the LS1 driveshaft that twisted.

The 1LE and the LS1 are comperable. The 1LE has a smaller dia., but has a thicker sidewall. The LS1 has a thinner sidewall but bigger dia., same thing. Relax, gumba
