Driver's window problem

I've got an intermittent drivers door window. The Pass window works fine. The window will go up & down then somethimes get stuck. Eventually, it'll work & get back up, for now.
My question is, is there a replacable switch, or does the switch just operate a contact block & I should look for the relay?
Thanx for any help.

It's the original motor. I was afraid of that. I was hoping it was a quick fix.
Looks like I'll have to get it fixed, I might be buying a '02 SS & the window will have to work if I sell the car.
Thanx again.

Sounds like a motor, but if you want to try a switch, you can pick one up at the dealer for about $10.

If your gonna replace it yourself I suggest you do it the Shoebox way, I changed the motor out in about an hour just piddling along and it was way easier than pulling the regulator out.

How do you replace the window motor, the Shoebox method? I've gone to the website and don't see anything on window motor replacement. Also, I went to a1electric's website and saw a photobook of them installing a pw on a s-10 pickup. It looks difficult...plus, you need a rivet gun. Did you have to do something similar when you said it only took you an hour to change it over? I'm trying to fix a girlfriend's driver's pw on her '96 Z28. Thanks

help!
