Driver power seat going crazy

ok so I get into my car tonight, and as soon as I sit down the seat starts moving back with out me even touching anything, I then try to move it back up, but as soon as I let go of the little **** it goes all the way back again....so I start to drive home like this then while playing with it, it starts to move up, but now I cant move it back. Anyone know what the hell it could be? The other buttons work fine, just the one for back and forth is acting crazy.

LOL, dude that sucks. Sorry no input, but I'm just imagining you trying to drive home moving the seat back and forth back and forth. Sorry man, here's a TTT for ya.

That has to be pretty annoying. You must have a short in the switch. Probably not much you can do except replace it or set the seat and unplug it.

I had the same problem. I replaced the switch on the seat and has worked fine since. I couldn't find the part anywhere but the dealer. I think it was $45.

Wait until the seat gets where you want it and pull the breaker. Be careful, because it probably will be hot.

Then go get a new switch. (assuming you have no pinched wires or something)

1993-1997 Camaro power seat switch GM p/n 22543666. ~$23 wholesale.

Yup, shoebox hit the nail on the head. My car did something very similar. I ended up pulling the breaker when the seat was where I wanted it.

It's a bad seat switch.

I had the same problem about 2 years ago. Replaced the switch and motor(s). Someone else did it so I dont remember exactly what was done.

I have the same problem!

I ended up putting it where I wanted, then unplugged the harness under the seat, since pulling the breaker kills the rear defroster. Very annoying!

Thanks, Rob, for the part #!
