drag radials

i am thinking of getting dr's come summer time. i may buy my friends bfg's or if i buy them from a dealer, i will get the nitto 555r's.

i am wondering if it's worth the money + what kind of gains iam i looking at for 60' and overall time? also is there a certain psi i should run at for the track?

any answers would be helpful, thanx.

Any of those tires will do well. As for track times, it all depends on your launch. You gotta make sure to heat them up well. Just know that the traction will be much better with these off the launch, much better...

My friend had both on his car and he had the nittos 315/35/17 and someone slashed them so he got the BFG's drag radial because they were in stock in 315/35/17 and the nittos weren't so he bought the BFG's and hasn't looked back and people say that they don't last long but my friend has had them on his car for 9 thousand miles and they still work the *****. And many of my other friends have bought them since.

From what I've heard, BFG DR's don't last as much as the Nitto's but they're still good. My friend has the 315/35/17 on his SS and launches at 1300 i believe... not too sure, may be more.

Well if you have a stock convertor you will probably only be able to leave at about 1600. you could leave higher than like 2200 or so but i believe that is the stock stall speed is only 1600...i don't know though.

i gained 2 tenths off my 60 with drag radials, but i think they only go as wide as a 255 for the 16 in rim, but i may be wrong though,

Nope your right. Go no larger than 255's on the stock rim. I've also heard that Nitto's last longer than BFG's. Don't expect the Nitto's to last more than 15,000 miles though. Most people from what I've heard gain about .2 tenths with just the DR's alone. Definately a must if you have any mods.
