Drag racing.

Do 17 inch rims help you hook up any better than 16 inch rims?

other way around, 17s theoretically will hook worse than 16s

The 16's will also be lighter then the 17's and we all know lighter is better

I sold my 17'' vette wheels to get some 15'' drag wheels. I could tell a big difference with traction just on street tires from going with those smaller rims.

17's are for bling. 15's are for dragging.

Just carry some 15's in your trunk with some et slicks when you're headin' to the track.

I went from Nittos on 15's to Nittos on 17's and the 15's hooked WAY better... I for drag racing, you want the sidewall flex and lighter weight. For handling and high-speed performance, you want lower sidewall, but still lighter is better.
