Double checking before i fire her up...?
I pretty much finished the cam install and wanted to double check a couple things before i fire her up tomorrow. I lined up the dots perfectly. The opti only goes on one way, right? Either way, i put it on the dowel pin where it was supposed to. I should be in perfect timing, right? I used the instructions on Shoebox's page to set the roller rockers. I turned the nuts until i felt some drag on the roller rockers, then turned it 2/3 of a turn. For some reason, some nuts were higher to turn than others, but i figured it was probably the studs. Then i tightened the keepers as hard as i could. Everything should be fine, I hope. Please let me know what you guys think.
Some nuts were higher? What rockers and nuts do you have, Comp Cams? If some are sitting higher, you better check that you don't have the trunion turned over. The nut needs to sit in the machined portion of the rocker trunion.
The only other thing that might make them sit higher is that you did not have the lifter on the base of the cam lobe when you adjusted it.

The machined portion? I have the ones that come with the hotcam kit, and on those, there was a flat side to the trunion and a round part. I had installed it with the nut on the flat side of the trunion. I'm sorry, for some reason i wrote higher, i meant to say "harder", don't know what i was thinking! lol All the nuts sat at the same height, i checked that.
