Question Door panel problem

I figured I'd throw this in and see if anyone had the same problem. Drivers side door, the outer metal seperated from the inner metal. I was going to use some liquid nail type stuff and c-clamp it and hope it holds. It seperated right by the door handle. When I pull on the handle to open it the outside metal comes apart from the inner. Any other suggestions, other than liquid nails, to bond the two metals together?

I would use something like JBweld that gets harder. Liquid nails will be flexible.

I suppose that's an autoparts store item? What's the drying time on that stuff?

Jb weld sets up in like 1 hour and turns hard in 24. Its sandable and can be drilled. It gets ROCK hard when dry. Napa, pepboys, autoZone $8

Is your door metal or fiberglass? Anyways I had the same problem and I used the Jb weld stuff and it worked awesome.

Panel feels like metal. I'm going to buy the stuff tomorrow and see what happens.

The doors and door skin are SMC (sheet molded compound), pretty much like fiberglass. If you went to an auto paint supply store, they would have the proper adhesive, but I am not real sure of what part you have a problem with.

You know the rubber strip at the bottom of the window where it meets the door? When I go to opn the door, the whole outside panel comes apart and I can look down past that rubber weather stripping and see the inner door, where the window would be if it were down.

Could be. I'm not an expert on the subject.
