Don't let people fool you, CC306 can pass emissions easily.

Needless to say I failed miserably with long tubes, CC306 cam, and a "high flow" cat converter.

I forgot the total numbers of the failed run, but I had nearly 10 times of the legal limit of hydro carbons. Normal was 0.8000 grams/mile, I had 7.9xxx grams/mile.

I threw a cat on after each collector, drove around for about 30 minutes, and then passed. The St. Louis area has roller testers, and they test the car like its driving around on the street, plus they lowered most of the requirements to pass. Not your average sniffer test. Damn Gateway Clean Air Act!

Hydrocarbons were 0.3157 grams/mile out of 0.8000 g/m.
Carbon Monoxide was 0.2291 g/m, out of 15.0000 g/m
I actually passed Oxides of Nitrogen the first time around (if your car is too lean). I came through with 0.0623 g/m, out of 2.0000 g/m.

That and it quieted the car up dramatically, and changed the tone. Sounded like a your usual Mustang with Flows on it. Definatly not as raspy.

I had to take down my dual cutout y-pipe and e-cutouts, so they'll be for sale soon. (Edit: y-pipe wasn't worth keeping, but I still have the cutouts) I'm putting up a true dual exhaust setup, and keeping this current one to pass emissions with. I'll get some pics tomarrow when I go to the exhaust shop to put the new one on.

You said you put a cat after each collector. In which location did you have the old high flow cats? Did you change the brand of cats or did you reuse the same ones?

"High Flow" If you get my drift. I just got generic replacements from AutoZone, make sure its for a single cat car, one of the big ones. They're like $80 something.

Yup, Bryan from PCMforLess did a fine job tuning my car (shameless plug). I was kinda apprehensive when it didn't "fast" pass. Odds are with this kinda emission suppression, a 306 could pass probably anywhere, except Cali.

When I failed the first time, they looked under the car and then asked me if I had EGR and a cat, I told them they were both buried. They didn't pop the hood to look for them.

These testing facilities are totally seperate from getting a safety inspection too, so you need this "passed" sheet, and a regular safety inspection too.

After I passed, I don't think they looked under the car, if not they would of seen a lot of pipe and a two big cats looking at them. Then I have the little AIR pump removal sticker from a 95-96 Impala SS/LT1 Caprice to say why the AIR pump isn't hooked up. Then I can say the EGR is buried, and then point to the EGR stuff on the back of the manifold and say its on there. Although hopefully they won't inspect too closely to find out its all been vacuum capped off.

They didn't pop the engine compartment. I think they don't care as long as you pass the test.

I'm getting mine safety inspected on Friday (my place ran out of stickers). They'll say "it had cats on, and all the stuff on it when I(the shop) inspected it, and he (me) must of did the work at home."

So all you did was put two stock cats on the car and run it thru?

Thats awsome.

Yup. $85 for each cat, and $200 for the custom y-pipe from a buddy at an exhaust shop. A little pricey, but it passed. Another guy up there with a Mustang thought I wasn't gonna pass, he was suprised as I was.

So you have the "dyno" emmisions test where they actually take your car through a simulated drive? That's what we have here, just curious.
