HELP!!! no shift just revs

when i accelerate hard from a stop or already goin, when i get above 4.5 rpm my car just revs, kinda like its hittin the rev limiter, and wont shift till i let off the gas and then and then accelerate not as hard. whats wrong, could it be tranny fluid cause i dont know whens the last time its been changed? someone please help

Autotap it, either that or it sounds like something is wrong with the tranny.

so my prob is burned out clutches? i have an A4 is, ive only heard of manuals burning clutches. what should. besides get new clutches if thats the problem

Manual trannies have A clutch, the automatics have clutchpacks in them. Burned clutchpacks in thee trannies aren't uncommon and that is what it sounds like to me.
