The stock replacements from GM are the sames as those used in the LS7. They're pretty much good enough for most applications.....

I use stock LS1 lifters. They've been working great for nearly 6 years now.

Ls7's are the stock lt1 replacement now. I remember seeing a price difference a while ago when ordering them for one car vs the other.

I have two that are bad . Ive been doing allot of searching on the ls7 lifters and allot of people say they are the same as the lt1 stock lifters and others are saying they had to change pushrods . I just dont want to end up buying a bunch of new parts to make them work .Im not doubting what you guys are telling me but Ive heard some much both ways .

The distance between the pushrod cup and the bottom of the roller requires some ingenuity and dexterity to measure if you're not set up to do so. I have observed that there can be a variation of up to .100" between different batches of lifters. Each motor seems to have been shipped with a consistent set of lifters but when you begin cross-breeding and mix-matching, it is possible that, in order to maintain the correct distance between the lifter and the rocker arm and therefore the correct rocker arm geometry, a change in pushrod length may be required to compensate. If you want to avoid changing pushrods, compare the distance from the bottom of the cup to the bottom of the roller and match with your originals.

They are not the same as the stock LT1 lifters. They are what GM sells as the replacement for the now discontinued LT1 lifter. On a basically stock drivetrain I'd be surprised if you'd have to change the pushrods to accomodate the different lifters. However, why guess? Determine where the rocker tip travels on the vale tip and make the call from that...
