Donkey stick got suck up in TB
Donkey stick got suck up in TB
Well my donkey stick hit the crank pulley and got chewed up and I think the pieces went in the TB. Now my car has a little tick. What should I do. Ive removed the boot and installed a Impala one on for the meantime. I seafoamed yesterday and its still there. I would assume that the plastic would melt once it hit internals but I have no clue. What else could cause the tick. I know exhaust leak and loose plug which I will check once the weather gets better (too cold and rainy) but what does a bad lifter sound like?

dude that doesn't sound good at all....how did the bellow hit the crank pulley? I would have to say that you might have to pull the heads to clean it out....just my thought though.....

How long do I have if I have a bad lifter and when it fails what should I look for.
The debris would not be able to reach a lifter, what couldve happened though is the plastic may have melted against a valve or the valve seal. Dunno maybe the tick was always there but you only noticed it now cause you're a little worried.
In any case a ticking is usually either an exhaust leak, or a lifter, or a rocker, the first one is easy to check just take a hose, put one end by your ear and put the other by the manifold and hear if you have a leak.
Good luck!
ps. Maybe I read it wrong, but it appears you were putting the elbow on with the car running??? Never work on the car with it running, trust me I've had a sleeve get caught by the drivebelt and it hurt.
