doing intake leak

I want do change intake gaskets and I wonder
do I really have to disconect fuel lines?

or Can I jusdt leave them attached to fuel rails and put beside.
I`m asking because I dont have a tool for disconecting those lines.

Is it a special tool for lt1? or just an ordinary tool for efi cars with same diamiter lines will work?

I would say you could probably do it with the fuel lines still connected to the fuel rails but it would be easier to disconnect the fuel lines and leave the fuel rails on the manifold.

Plus I would think the fuel rails would get in the way just hanging there in the engine compartment but it can be done.

Don't get those! I spent a whole night trying to use those and then took them back and got the all-white colored Lisle set. The Lisle set worked in about 10 seconds, where as I spent hours trying to get that set to work out for me. Another member had the same problem. I just did this about a month ago, and I think disconnecting the fuel lines makes it a lot easier. All you do is those two lines and then four bolts on top of the rails. Replace your injector o-rings while they are off the intake.

That what I have heard too but the AZ where I live (town of 15K) didn't have the Lisle set and I had to use what was available but it did do the trick for me. I like the Lisle because it comes with a handy holder.

i did my whole cam install w/o disconnecting them. the lines swing out of the way far enough to set the intake down with no problems.
