DOH!! one keeper stuck half way down retainer

DOH!! one keeper stuck half way down retainer
While replacing valve spring, I got one new keeper back in and
the compressor slipped off. Thus, wedging one keeper half way down in the retainer.
Everytime I try to compress the spring it pushes the valve down
and I can not get the keeper out.
Anybody have any suggestions?
