I just bought a 96 TA with 57K miles and a Corsa exhaust. Where the new cat-back bolts to the y-pipe, there is no flange. It's slip fitted with 2 U-clamps, an extenion, and the bolts are grinded off. Was this a hack job? I imagine there should be a flange on the stock dual-cat y-pipe, correct?
Reason I ask is because the Corsa muffler is shot and they want $272 for a replacement muffler. I'll just buy a new entire magnaflow system for $323. Anyone have a stock y-pipe?

where the y pipe conects to the cat back it should just be slip fit.

 

Factory Y piped 96-7 cars all have a slip fit cat back; like the 98-02's have....

 

I have a borla catback, jba headers, and y pipe, and I have a huge flange where they meet.

 

I've got a stock y pipe off a 97. You're more than welcome to it. I'm in KCMO
