does the wp drive seal stretch?

well i replaced the seal in the timing cover and when i was putting the new one on i think i might have stretched the inner seal a litttle bit....will it shrink back down to size or is it ruined?

IMHO, a small amount of stretching should not keep it from returning to it's previous size.

I had to stretch the hell out of mine. As I remember there are 2 lips. One faces in and one faces out. If you don't stretch the inner, it will roll over and become an outer facing seal and it will leak.

After I did above procedure, no leaks.
