Unhappy Does the roller tip on RR's need to be perfectly lined up with the valve stem?

When I set my NSA Pro Mags with GM Guideplates, most every one came out perfect, roller tip lining up just right with the tip of the valve stem. But on one of them, the roller tip is only about 3/4 on the valve stem tip.

It is odd because most of them, when the cam is on a flat spot have enough play (I guess between a little slack in guideplates and the fulcrum) to move them side to side a little, but the one in question doesnt move alot one way, but moves just like the others the other way.

It never looks like it could come off, but I am going to be spinning the **** out of this motor and would like to know FOR SURE, before building the rest.

Thanks in advance,
James

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Think 7 "THOUSAND" rpm's and rocker half assed alignment job starts hitting the valve sideways... Geometry out of whack, retainers getting pounded sideways, locks flying inside the Valve train cavities... getting stuck in odd places or even going down into the oil pan just to be thrown around hitting piston rods and chipping parts off metal everywhere, right before they get rocket propelled into the bottom part of a piston and going right through your cylinder head and valve covers, denting your beautiful just painted "flame chicken" Red engine Hood!!!

Dont forget the "desintegraded" Rocker arm's parts will go through the same proccess.. and your car's front end will look like the 4th of July, internal Human eater space alien attack, just when you thought you had that chick on your passenger seat nailed, oil, sparks, volatile fumes, Hot coolant and loud popping noises emanating from no other than your pride and joy sends all those scared little children diving underneath their little school desks... ducking down for cover from the futile terrorist attempts to deliver a few Optical precision guided weapons of mass destruction....... errr

well now you know why people think I am a Mental Case

Honestly it did occur to me that you may have received one of those "offset" rockers.... I think they are called. I was looking for pusrods when I came across a listing for rockers and I think they were called offset or something. Wanna call the place were you purchased them from and inquire?

These are just standard NSA Pro Mags, and like I said, all the others line up fine.

There has to be a way to fix this problem, anyone got any ideas?

Did you try changing that rocker to a different cylinder to see if it does the same thing? Maybe it's the rocker, or maybe it's something jacked up with the current valvetrain that it's on.

It isnt the rocker, or at least it really doesnt appear that way.
