Does OBD2 throw all kinds of SES lights?

Or does it act up more than an OBD1 car? My 94 Z28 would throw SES lights all the time off and on, just like every LT1 (all OBD1) that any of my friends own/have owned...

Just wondering if OBD2 is the same, better, or does it light up even more often?

OBD-II has more monitoring functions and trouble codes to go with them. I guess that might make you more apt to get a code, but just like OBD-I, it won't throw a code unless something is detected.
