does the msd box really help any?
I have a Dig6 and I didn't feel a difference, but I didn't even feel it when my car picked up 22rwhp on the dyno.
I out an MSD6A on my old 5.0 'stang and didn't feel any difference. I took it off 6 months later and definitely felt a difference with it not on there. strange..

I was in the same situation-had one laying around not doing anything, so I put it on years ago. Nothing noticeable, but it can't hurt (don't let people tell you they kill optis).
I did happen to notice that one time when I was chasing an ignition problem (that turned out to be a bad plug wire), that I could notice a difference in the engine note at idle when comparing with the box or without.

I agree that I doubt an MSD box wouldn't "kill" an opti, but wouldn't the fact that the ign at certain RPMS is firing multiple times and hence increasing the wear of the contact points at least marginally?
BTW, I never noticed any change with the install of my MSD Dig 6. One thing for sure, having a box tends to add one more item that needs to be checked when tracking down ign problems. Unless you have an MSD tester, and I don't, I always suspect the MSD box when encountering any ign related problem on any vehicle. As most are stating the rev limiter is far better than the oem version.
The MSD Dig6 looks good as heck parked in the engine bay.
