Does this make sense to anyone?

My car is in my sig....and there's another kid I know who also has a 97 Z28...but his mods include: intake, tb, headers, cam, rockers, 2400 stall, fully built custom tranny, 3.73's, exhaust, tune, shift kit and a handful of other mods....I only have intakes, exhaust and shift kit....yet my car is just as fast....he's got a good setup....I just think my car runs unusually strong
I did buy all my guts from a wrecked Z28....so maybe there was something else done to the engine that I didn't know about
has anyone ever heard of LT1's running MUCH stronger than an average engine?

Define just as fast, do you have any proof of this?

Not a rant or saying its not true just asking.

He obviously doesn't have a good setup if you are hanging right with him.

maybe it has something to do with the fact that you have multiple intakes

Right from the factory some claim really low 1/4 mile times compared to what GM says.

the thing is, I've been in his and it feels like it pulls a lot harder...and I've seen some of the cars that he's beaten, and they're not slouches...

yes, we lined up the other day and I pulled ahead a few car lengths and he never caught up until I hit the breaks....the reason I said "just as fast" was because I was putting traction and everything else into play, meaning on a different day he may been able to get the jump on me and it could have gone either way

I'm still trying to figure out my setup since my engine, tranny and rear are all from a wrecked Z I picked up from the pittsburgh area....it makes me wonder if there wasn't something done to the engine that I don't know about like cam...etc.....the only thing about that theory is that the car didn't have headers or anything like that to make me believe it would have any sort of in depth mod

I have heard this too....and it makes me wonder if I may have one of those factory engines that just give a little more

also, I do not have the money to throw my car on the dyno yet just for the heck of it, haha.....I probably will once my modifications go a little more in depth
