cap and rotor is a normal thing to replace under maintenance, when is the last time it was changed?

The tip of that rotor is worn man, it needs to be replaced and probably along with an equally worn distributor cap. Most cases you can get a cap+rotor from Autozone for about $15 out the door.

You are aware this is for an lt1 right? Its going to cost 10X that much. And if you go to the dealer they quoted me $390 for cap and rotor, $490 for entire unit.

Yep, if you can get a cap and rotor for that cheap, either you're buying the wrong part or somebody is cutting you a MAJOR deal.

Ok so yeah I was WAY off, Autozone (my work lol) has the cap and rotor kit only and it's a regular stocked item at $229.99.. It looks complete with lots of little parts but man that's expensive.

MSD Cap/rotor kits are $140 and have a better reputation that the generic autozone kits.
