Nothing against lloyd i don't want this to sound like an insult cause it is not. I don't believe he is the best i think there is probably better out there. His quality to price ratio is one of the best out there though that is why he is so popular. Lloyd if you read this don't take offense to it it isn't an insult. Judging by some of your posts i think you have admitted phil knows how to port a head.

Phil and LLoyd are both good.

GTP was know before for being very good, and they are if the right guy does the work there. From what I have seen on a flowbench I am not impressed, even if it was 187cc.

Any porter who is very good on a tradtional SBC 23 deg head is going to find 275cfm out of them.

LOL!!!!

There are ALOT of people that are better than me. There is alot more to heads than flow #'s. Hell, I learn stuff all of the time from some of these people.

Z95M6 hit the nail right on the head. No offense taken.

Almost all big name porters can get better flow #'s than I can. The problem is getting THEM to do the work instead of one of their "hired hands". Is Lloyd better than most of the "hired hands" that are doing the portwork for some big shops?? It kinda seems that way. I know that ANY porting shop is CAPABLE of better work than Lloyd, it is just getting them to do it. They have to be able to make $$ and the more heads that they put out the door in a week the better off they are. They can either do their "BEST" work and do 2 sets a week or do 5-20 "OK" set by hiring porters and mass producing. I guess if you are a "big-name" you might get the porter to do them himself and get "awesome" #'s. Most people do not get that persons "BEST" port job or maybe not THAT person at all's port job. If you want KILLER #'s from any shop let them you know you expect the BEST and I am sure that the "BEST" porter will do his "BEST" work. Also let them know that you will be flowing them agin and you will tell EVERYONE the results (good or bad).
I am not sure what THAT is gonna cost ya. Most people believe that is what they are getting anyway, LOL.

Bottom line is "NO", he is NOT the best and he can name several people with more SKILLS (Trevor Johnson, Hans Yelvington (Yelvi), Phil, etc, etc, etc). I am sure there are porters with my skill (or better) in EVERY town. You just have to find them and be able to get them to actually "try" on your heads.

well, Lloyd may not be the best but he's also not so full of himself that he can't admit that. I have way more respect for someone that knows they can improve and works towards that than I do for someone who thinks they are a master (whether true or not) and proceeds to let everyone know (by price or whatever).

When it comes time for heads Lloyd is getting my money. At least I know what I'm getting, and from what I've seen its pretty damn good!

Lloyd is getting my money, he may not be "the best" but from what I have seen he is definately one of the best.
All I know Lloyd is doing my heads and atleast I won't have to worry about who did the work from some big money store and if they will flow what they are supposed to flow.
Personally I think 2g's for a set of heads is madness, But that is just my $.02.
I am having hi-flow heads check my heads when they are done, Not that I don't think Lloyd will do a good job, So don't blow this out of proportion, I just want to know what they will flow for a baseline.

I got my heads through Lloyd, I must say that you get more than your moneys worth with him. He got amazing flow numbers with my stock valves, sometimes even more than other people with largrer valves.

I'm about to find out how good his work is, as I'm in the process of installing a set of Lloyd's ported heads now. I've heard nothing but good things about his work, which is why I took my business his way in the first place.
